I think that it's trying to poke fun at people who are trying to stop sweatshops. They are basically saying that the people are already starving and dying with sweatshops. Without sweatshops they are most definitely going to starve and die.
Not only that but these people live in complete poverty
and the nike sweatshops are the only things that they have.
It just shows that us westerners know nothing
These people are not trying to remove jobs from third world countries, they just don't agree with the terrible conditions they have to endure in these sweatshops. Some people try to argue that child labour is necessary in those countries to survive, but if companies like Nike (who can certainly afford it) paid decent wages, the parents would be able to support their kids and their 10 year olds wouldn't have to quit school to work in sweatshops.
